BookArc is a data visualisation of books being read by college students. It gives an overview of the most issued books w.r.t the time taken to read it for the entire college as well as per student.

WHY?
These days the college students are not a fan of reading. Be it academic or by choice reading is replaced by increasing screen time. Most of the students prefer reading synopsis of books and then spend time on their laptops and phones.
CONTEXT
The platform caters to the students who wants to understand
what popular books are being issued in the college. It gives a seamless view of books, its interest & people who have read it.
GOAL
An app showing the students hours they have read in a day, the books and genre they read. User can read beyond the genre they read in.
Reading influences behavioural habits in students. Even if a reading material is provided to the student, the colleges and the other students are unable to understand what anyone should or has read.
They don’t understand the importance of reading, what they liked reading, what they didn’t and how that can be improved.
I tried to do some secondary research around the same.

DESIGN BRIEF
To design an application that motivates students to read more often, give them a comparable data of what they are reading the most, their reading habits. It also takes in account the most issued books in college in order to understand the reading patterns of the students.
